188th Fighter Group ANG Fort Smith MAP, Arkansas F-16A/B, C-12F 'FS' 184th Fighter Squadron

The 184th FS is the group's flying component and has had the F-16A assigned since June 1988. The unit was formed as the 184th TRS in October 1953 with RB-26Cs, until replaced by RF-80As in June 1956. The squadron converted to RF-84Fs early in 1957 and was called to active duty between November 1961 and August 1962. The 184th joined the 188th TRG in October 1962. RF-101Cs were operated from December 1970 until June 1972, when the F-100D was delivered and unit became the 184th TFS. The 184th re-equipped with F-4Cs in mid-1979, and the F-16A from 1988.
